Sobi is dedicated to providing access to innovative treatments that make a significant difference in the lives of individuals with ultra-rare diseases. GAMIFANT is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of adults and children (newborn and older) with primary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) whose disease has come back or progressed, or other medicines have not worked well enough or cannot be tolerated.

THE PROBLEM
Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is rare life-threatening syndrome that can affect infants, children, adolescents and adults. HLH is not a single disease, however; it is a group of disorders of the immune system that can be triggered by infections, cancer or rheumatologic diseases.
Because of how rare HLH is, many individuals with HLH discover it after weeks or months of tests. There are very few treatment options available besides Gamifant. How do you help people understand this rare disease while also providing hope through a real patient testimonial video?
OUR SOLUTION
Sound Healthcare approached us in order to help bring Mack’s story to life. We were immediately inspired by the project and excited to lend our documentary filmmaking and storytelling abilities to producing this video in an authentic way. This project is right in line with our mission to tell meaningful stories that move people.
It was a pleasure to be able to capture Mack and his father Ben in a very natural way and to see the genuine connection, pride, and love surrounding them. They have both been through a lot in the last few years, and this story really is one of overcoming insurmountable odds.
